Daniel makes him feel alive in ways he hasn't in centuries, but also nervous because he doesn't know how to be this person without burning down the village around him to find warmth. He's always been self-minded, but now it seems like it's dialled up beyond that.

He walks slowly with Daniel, basking in the memory. "My beloved planner," he marvels. "You only needed to show up for tonight to be perfect. I appreciate the excuse to dress up, however."
